Samples of the beautiful art at the 28th CFD Western Art Show Exhibition and Sale are shown above. The sale was held Thursday night, but the Exhibition will continue until July 27th at the Old West Museum. The painting in the upper left was chosen as next year's limited edition print. The bronze sculpture on the lower left will be made to the size of Life and 1/4 and placed in front of the University of Wyoming Alumni House by the 2008 Homecoming UW game in October. Stop by and view the magnificant western art at the museum, you'll be glad you did! (Photos by Jennifer Jurgens / WyomingNetwork, Inc.) |

Cheyenne Frontier Days officially starts on Friday, July 18, but things got off with a bang ... or a moooooo ... on Sunday morning when 550 head of Corriente long horned steers were driven from the pasture north of Cheyenne along I-25 and through the city streets into Frontier Park. Only one steer escaped, and that was as the herd turned into Lions Park. A quick cowboy caught the cow and steered it back with the herd. The group was then "split" by several cowboys and their cutting horses into groups intended for wrestling and roping. (Photos by Lisa Kindel / WyomingNetwork, Inc.) |
Check back throughout the week, from July 18 through July 27 for updates.
